About Squeezers

Squeezers is one of the oldest surviving American playing card brands, born in the 1870s at the New York Consolidated Card Company and later carried forward by the Consolidated‑Dougherty division of The United States Playing Card Company. The name “Squeezers” comes from the corner indices that let players squeeze their hand into a tight fan instead of spreading cards wide on the table.

Through the late 19th and 20th centuries, Squeezers decks were workhorse cards for serious play, sharing the same Cambric finish made famous by Bee. Over time, the line narrowed to its two most beloved backs—Bulldog and Angel—which are now printed only occasionally and in relatively small runs compared to mass‑market brands.

Our Squeezers lineup at ClassicDecks is intentionally focused on these classic Bulldog and Angel backs. You’ll see current reissues and carefully selected modern printings that keep the original look and feel, rather than novelty variants that drift away from the historic brand.
