Aristocrat 727 Black Thin Crushed Playing Cards continue our modern Aristocrat 727 series with a crisp black-and-white treatment of the classic 727 Bank Note back. Following the four Aristocrat 110th Anniversary editions—Currency Green, Gold, Crimson, and Silver—this release keeps the historic 727 design at the center while putting an even greater emphasis on handling with thin-crushed stock and a Traditional Cut.

The 727 Bank Note back is one of the defining Aristocrat designs, with elaborate engraved-style linework and ornamental detail. The black-and-white treatment gives that intricate artwork a sharp, classic appearance while preserving the character that makes the 727 immediately recognizable.

Thin Crushed with a Traditional Cut

This edition was created with handling in mind. Thin-crushed paper stock gives the cards a thinner, softer and more flexible feel than a standard deck, with less break-in time and a responsive feel right out of the box.

Just as importantly, the cards feature a Traditional Cut. Traditionally cut cards are especially valued by magicians and experienced card handlers because the cutting direction favors face-down faro shuffles. For anyone who pays attention to how a deck handles—not just how it looks—the Traditional Cut is one of the most important features of this release.

The Classic 727 Bank Note Back

Aristocrat's Back No. 727, commonly known as the Bank Note back, is distinguished by its dense ornamental linework and engraved appearance. The design has long helped give Aristocrat playing cards a different character from simpler geometric or casino-style backs.

For this edition, the Bank Note design is presented in black and white, allowing the fine linework and symmetry of the back to take center stage.

Traditional Aristocrat Faces

The deck uses familiar traditional-index Aristocrat faces, including the classic Aristocrat court cards, Ace of Spades and Jokers.

A matching black-and-white tuck carries the Aristocrat crest, 727 identification and Linen Finish designation, finished with a metallic gold seal.

Continuing the Aristocrat 727 Series

Aristocrat playing cards date to 1915. In 2025, we marked the brand's 110th anniversary with four special editions of the 727 Bank Note back: Currency Green, Gold, Crimson, and Silver.

Aristocrat 727 Black follows those releases as the next deck in our modern 727 series. Rather than another anniversary colorway, this edition pairs the historic Bank Note design with a black-and-white presentation, thin-crushed stock and the Traditional Cut to create a deck with a distinctly handling-focused character.
