Provision Playing Cards are theory11’s tribute to the grit and heritage of Philadelphia, “the birthplace of America.” Illustrated entirely by hand in Philly by the True Hand Society, every visual element is original—from the court cards and aces to the tuck, seal, and back design.

The tuck box is printed on matte charcoal stock and wrapped in layers of copper and gold foil, with a vintage-inspired tax stamp seal and Latin mottos that hint at the deck’s theme of resilience and hidden strength. Open it up and even the inside of the box is flooded with gold foil, reinforcing the premium, artifact-like feel.

On the table, Provisions stand out with a fiery ember‑red back design built around a coiled serpent and circular emblem, framed by a razor‑thin off‑white poker border. For the first time ever, theory11 printed a deck on an ivory‑tone, off‑white card stock, giving the faces a subtle, vintage patina while still handling like a modern premium deck. The result is a timeless, slightly aged aesthetic that feels at home in both a display case and a worker’s rotation.

The faces are 100% custom. Pips have been re‑drawn in a slightly stylized, old‑world fashion, and each court is a unique character rendered in period‑inspired dress rather than a recolor of standard Bicycle art. Indices show both the value and a written label (e.g., “TWO”), improving legibility while reinforcing the graphic personality of the deck. Two Jokers depict a jester in a guillotine, echoing the deck’s darker, industrial tone, and the Ace of Spades features the coiled serpent emblem held aloft by a hand.

Printed in the USA at The United States Playing Card Company, Provisions use theory11’s usual recipe of FSC‑certified paper, vegetable‑based inks, and starch‑based laminates for a snappy, casino‑grade feel with smooth spreads and fans. The deck includes a double‑backer and ad card for added magic utility.

For collectors, the Provision deck offers distinctive shelf presence; for players and magicians, it provides robust handling wrapped in a design that feels like a relic from American history.
